Because of her decades of professional experience across different industry sectors Kelly wanted to offer the community affordable, inspiring, and dynamic classes to suit every child, enabling them to flourish and gain confidence whilst having fun in a safe and caring environment.

Our Story
From teacher to entrepreneur
Born and raised in the UK, Kelly became a music teacher in her early twenties, gaining her ABRSM qualifications. She became Head of Music and Drama at Greenfield Prep School, after working at many schools such as Shrewsbury House Prep School, Woodcote House, Manor House Girls School, Hinchley Wood Secondary and Asquith Nursery and Reception. Currently Kelly is head of music at Weston Green School, Thames Ditton.
Kelly has thrived performing as a singer and has regularly performed as pianist at the prestigious Savoy Hotel, The Royal Lancashire Hotel, Wentworth Golf Club, The Cellar Door at The Strand, Cafe Royal and many more.
Kelly has always loved working as a music teacher and performer and was inspired in her late 30s to give more to the community and schools in her area. Scales & Tales was born and she soon built up her business offering varied music, drama and dance activities in schools. She began to expand and employ teachers that were trained both directly in the industry and education.
Kelly has brought Scales & Tales to a growing number of schools in Surrey and Kingston Upon Thames. Her team has inspired hundred’s of children. Kelly has grown the business to include a fantastic and varied number of services to local schools.
Life today
When I am not teaching and running Scales & Tales, I love to go to the theatre and music events. I love to travel, go on long walks and hanging out with my husband and kids. I love cycling, going to the gym, taking dance classes and lifting weights.
My philosophy
My teaching style is fun and energetic. I believe in an authentic and inspiring approach to business: providing great service and delivering high quality teaching is at the core of everything I do.
